Good evening,

My bungalow, which has been designed to be barrier-free, is now getting the doors installed. A T30 fire-resistant door is planned as the access to the garage. I had the garage floor slab made slightly higher on purpose, so that later the screed in the house and garage will be level.

The frame has a continuous seal all around. Has anyone installed something like this in their home or have experience with it? Maybe even a photo?

I am a bit worried that the frame could become a tripping hazard 🤨

What has your practical experience been like with the tightness? Does the seal wear down a lot on the floor, or how should I imagine it?

The seal only makes contact when closed, relating to the concept of a drop-down feature. During operation, there is no rubbing.

That sounds very good 🙂 what I would still be interested in now is the airtightness... maybe someone can tell me more about that?

Our door is airtight. There are no drafts and nothing is rubbing.

There were also no issues during the blower door test.

However, I have not performed any pressure measurements or similar tests 🙄
