Hello!
Today I watched some kitchen assembly videos on YouTube and came across a drawer configuration that I’m curious about. I’d like to know whether this was standard with Faktum, if it existed only in the US kitchens called AKURUM, or if this is a custom build (which I doubt). In this setup, above wide pull-outs, there are two narrow drawers, something I’ve only seen in “professional” kitchen studios so far.
In this video around minute 12:30 – although I didn’t catch this layout being specifically mentioned:

The next – and more important – question is whether this is possible with Metod as well, without having to create it yourself? I’m especially interested in the metal rail underneath the drawers. I haven’t seen anything like that so far, but it would be great.
Edit: Or does anyone know the name of this drawer construction method? Then I could look up instructions myself.

Thanks, everyone! I’m not planning to build exactly the same cabinet, just to copy the construction method. 😉 In our case, we could add a 40cm (16 inches) drawer at the top in the 60cm (24 inches) wide cooktop cabinet, since the cooktop will be only 15cm (6 inches) above this cabinet. At least according to the current plan. 😀 We’ll see.
Edit: about the “real” kitchen studio – the hope was to find out if there is a specific name for this intermediate strip. :p

IKEA-Experte19 Feb 2017 21:09At AKURUM, the divider was screwed to the top of the crossbars and additionally supported at the front bottom by the metal strip. This can be quite easily made from a U-profile available at hardware stores.
The upper metal bars of METOD do not seem suitable to me for attaching the divider. That would have to be done at the countertop.

It's a pity that the "accessories" are no longer available. But of course, these metal crossbars are something different altogether.
Then also think about the countertop – or you could attach a board to the wall just 20cm (8 inches) away using an angle bracket, and then attach another board with an angle bracket to that... if that makes sense. I'm not sure if that would be stable enough.
