ᐅ Split drawers in Ikea FAKTUM kitchens?

Hello!

Today I watched some kitchen assembly videos on YouTube and came across a drawer configuration that I’m curious about. I’d like to know whether this was standard with Faktum, if it existed only in the US kitchens called AKURUM, or if this is a custom build (which I doubt). In this setup, above wide pull-outs, there are two narrow drawers, something I’ve only seen in “professional” kitchen studios so far.

The next – and more important – question is whether this is possible with Metod as well, without having to create it yourself? I’m especially interested in the metal rail underneath the drawers. I haven’t seen anything like that so far, but it would be great.

Edit: Or does anyone know the name of this drawer construction method? Then I could look up instructions myself.

The layout is often referred to as "2 2 drawers." In the Akurum buying guide, these were also included as a pre-assembled combination.

PS: In the current "Sektion" series, this layout apparently no longer exists.

And one more addition: You will probably need to design the chipboard divider and the rail that supports the divider yourself. At Ikea USA, this was called a "Partition drawer" or "Rail for Partition." They were available for different cabinet widths (still findable via archive.org).

Great effort for an unattractive appearance and loss of space.

... but then it looks like it came from a professional kitchen showroom 🙄 ...

I just realized that I was only thinking of cabinets with pull-outs. With 2 doors, the option with two drawers looks better. But who still chooses these kinds of base cabinets?
