Hello,
I am new here and already have my first question. I would like to set up a home office. We even have a spare room that I can convert for this purpose, but the room is very small. Now I am thinking about which furniture would fit best in the space... Do you have any tips? Which furniture can I use to maximize storage space in a small room? Do you have any good suggestions for combinations? That would be really great, thank you.

Hello,
in our office, the Ivar shelving unit with a depth of 50cm (20 inches) has proven to be very practical several times, usually with a height of 2.26m (7 ft 5 in). This way, I make good use of our ceiling height of about 2.50m (8 ft 2 in). We have integrated cabinets/drawers as enclosed storage.

In the former office, the Ivar was even placed as a corner unit. Our son now uses this version for his toys. However, I think we will get it back soon when our second child moves to the first floor, where the ceiling height is no longer 2.50m (8 ft 2 in). So, most likely a 1.79m (5 ft 10 in) Ivar will have to be used for the first floor toy storage, or there will be a built-in closet under the sloped ceiling with Trofast units inside.

We’ll see.
Have fun setting up your office!
Best regards,

So, I combined my office furniture from Ikea, using the Besta desk and USM furniture.. it looks really stylish

I also furnished my office, from the desk to the decorations (plants), with IKEA products. The only exception I made was for the mobile pedestals and lockers with unauthorized advertising, where I wanted to use a more durable material, since the drawers are opened and closed quite frequently, sometimes even slammed shut. Tip: Don’t fill everything up; less is more.

Which flooring material would you choose for a high-traffic office? Currently, there is bare concrete, which tends to feel a bit cold over time. Therefore, we are considering other options such as carpet, laminate, or hardwood flooring.

Which material would be the best choice here, regardless of cost?

Best regards

So, I recently checked out the new Galant series at Ikea, and I actually like it quite a lot.

However, I’m still looking for a few small items and haven’t had much luck finding them at Ikea. Things like labels, a laminator, printer, printing supplies like paper, a scanner, and so on. During my research, I came across Otto Office, where I can order all these missing small items. Now I just need a desk chair. Do you have any suggestions? Which office chairs are good for long periods of sitting? Which ones do you use, and what can you recommend based on your experience? At the moment, I have a cheap office chair, but I need to get rid of it because it’s simply uncomfortable. I want to spend up to 150 (currency), and it has to be really comfortable to sit on. Please share your ideas.

Some time ago, I ordered office supplies from steckenborn. It was cheaper than Staples, Viking, and other well-known suppliers.

Regarding office chairs, I can only say: test them thoroughly. IKEA offers several models up to 150 € (about 160 USD). However, I would also recommend visiting an office furniture specialist to compare options.
