Hello,

we have a small passage room here that connects the hallway with the living room. It’s not large, and considering that two walls have doors and one wall has two windows, there’s not much space for furniture. So far, we only have a sofa and two small shelves, but it still feels somewhat empty. What else could we add there? When we have guests, it’s not as comfortable as it is now.

Regards

Hello Hans,

the first question that comes to mind is: who do you want to set up the walk-through room for? For yourself or for guests? Maybe the answer is already in that question? Just make it a guest room. That way, you won’t always have to invite guests into the living room. A sofa with a small table and a few plants would be completely sufficient.

I would set this up as my home office. A desk with shelves and, of course, plenty of plants. A wall-mounted whiteboard would also be included. Of course, it depends on what kind of work you do.

Hi Nina,

I have a home office for that, where not everyone has to walk through 🙂
When I’m working, I need my quiet.
Also, my desk doesn't always look tidy enough to show to everyone.
My home office is also my relaxation room, where I can retreat.
The walk-through room can probably only serve as a kind of reception area for guests.

I like the idea of a walk-through room, and I would have something like that as well. We always get together with friends for game nights, which take place in the living room. In a walk-through room like that, I would place a table with chairs, along with beer tables for drinks and a refrigerator.

Hello Hans 123,
Good, you have your own office; I think you need it for your work. We only sit at the computer occasionally and do our tax return once a year, we don’t need more than that.
Kind regards
Nina
