Hi, the exterior walls on the ground floor are already up.
When measuring carefully today, I noticed that one of the patio doors in the living room has been shifted by 10cm (4 inches). Instead of 263cm (104 inches) from the wall to the window, it is now 273cm (107 inches), and on the other side, instead of 513cm (202 inches), it is only 503cm (198 inches) (see picture).
I don’t think you can add 10cm (4 inches) of masonry on one side of the wall extension and then remove 10cm (4 inches) on the other side.
I also know it probably won’t cause any real problems (maybe just looks a little different), but this wasn’t how it was planned.
So my question is whether anything can be done about this? Possibly also regarding the costs?
Thanks and best regards

And who says that those annoying 10cm won’t cause furniture issues later on? And maybe those exact 10cm are the reason the furniture actually fits. Who knows.
But as I said, I would mention it as well. You can wait and see what the builder says. In the end, they might just adjust the measurements – problem solved.
By the way – our house has been finished for a long time – the trust was not disappointed.

Steffen8028 Jun 2017 08:20What should I contribute here? 10cm (4 inches)... unfortunate, but probably not practically relevant. We had a similar issue (4cm (1.5 inches)) but with practical relevance. I almost didn’t notice because the guys corrected it so quickly (cut off one side and glued the other side on). No big deal..
Something similar happened to us as well. The difference was 5cm (2 inches), but because of that, the kitchen no longer fit as planned.
As a result, instead of 4 cabinets in the cupboard wall (fridge/oven/oven/freezer), only 3 cabinets would have been possible.
I ended up having the entire wall demolished.
If I were the original poster, I would definitely bring up the issue and see how they respond, but do it politely and firmly. In this case, it’s absolutely irrelevant for them.
They should realize that you are serious about it.
I can only highly recommend a laser measuring device to any future homeowner!
It was already convenient during the planning phase in show homes, so you didn’t always have to take out a tape measure, and it’s even more useful for checking the shell construction.

I have already received a response from the site manager. Luckily, I hadn't written anything except that, in my opinion, 10cm (4 inches) were missing.
I had compared the measurement with the old plan we had signed, but it seems this was changed during the project planning meeting, and with so many changes, I didn’t notice it at all!
Sorry
