Hi, the exterior walls on the ground floor are already up.

When measuring carefully today, I noticed that one of the patio doors in the living room has been shifted by 10cm (4 inches). Instead of 263cm (104 inches) from the wall to the window, it is now 273cm (107 inches), and on the other side, instead of 513cm (202 inches), it is only 503cm (198 inches) (see picture).

I don’t think you can add 10cm (4 inches) of masonry on one side of the wall extension and then remove 10cm (4 inches) on the other side.

I also know it probably won’t cause any real problems (maybe just looks a little different), but this wasn’t how it was planned.

So my question is whether anything can be done about this? Possibly also regarding the costs?

Thanks and best regards

Then the problem just vanished... In such cases, it can sometimes help to make a virtue out of necessity → insulating the reveal on both sides with 5 cm (2 inches) of extruded polystyrene foam board, and everything fits perfectly again. Incidentally, this is generally recommended to avoid thermal bridges, for example when the window is tilted open, to prevent the masonry from cooling down.

No plastic will be used on my house... In other words, it will not be insulated.
Besides, with your method, wouldn’t the window just become 10cm (4 inches) smaller?

Ah, and your ground slab won’t be insulated?
What about the concrete ceiling? Won’t there be any edge insulation around the ceiling?
How are you insulating the roof, the roller shutter boxes, and the foundation? With air and love?

Yes, the windows would be 10cm (4 inches) smaller than the previous, "incorrect" wall opening, so they will be exactly the size they should be. Accordingly, the wall section will be larger.
I would reconsider not insulating the reveals if I were you...

So it will be a KFW 55 house, and I believe it has the necessary insulation.
However, the masonry itself will not be insulated (36.5cm (14.4 inches) Ytong).

If I make the windows 10cm (4 inches) smaller, they will be smaller than originally planned.
This is because the wall was not made 10cm (4 inches) thicker but rather shifted by 10cm (4 inches).

But this has been clarified now.

I had compared the measurement with the old plan we had signed, but apparently this was changed during the project planning meeting, and with all the changes, I didn’t notice it at all!

Sorry

I don’t understand this. Who agreed on the changes with whom after the signature?
