Hello everyone!

We need to order our sanitary fixtures and have just heard from acquaintances that they are not satisfied at all with their rimless toilet.
What kind of toilets have you installed – with or without a rim – and are you happy with them?

We chose the Architectura model, which we really liked, and it is displayed in the small bathroom. The price-to-performance ratio was also an important factor. We are very satisfied, especially since we also really like the matching washbasin. Installation was very easy and, like everything else, was done by ourselves in the bathroom.

Regarding the issue of splashing, this can sometimes be related to the water pressure or the type of cistern combined with the toilet. There are definitely combinations that don’t work very well together, usually resulting in not everything being properly flushed.

We actually had a thread about this before, where it turned out to be the wrong type of cistern. @Wickie might want to look into that.

There was once a series where splashing occurred.
Our toilet is from that series as well. I later read that they revised it.

I would ask why they are not satisfied.

As for the splashing: it was a bit unsettling at first, yes.
But I quickly stopped caring whether 2 or 3 drops splash onto the tiles due to water pressure. They dry off again.
What’s more important for us is that the pipe is flushed freely – since debris keeps coming back.

Sometimes they splash out as well. But not always – for some reason, I don’t know why. The plumbing company said you could install a flow restrictor in the cistern, but they wouldn’t recommend it because of cleaning the toilet.

So far, I’ve tried to mentally ignore the drops on the floor, but since they probably include residue from the previous use, I do find it quite unpleasant. :-(

However, I once had a very old toilet in an apartment that would occasionally splash onto the floor too.

Residue? Oops...

In our case, it's probably just water splashing back from the flush in the bowl, so it's clean...
And since we have tiles on which you can't see any dirt or dust, it doesn't really matter.

But it doesn't happen all the time, that's the same for us as well.

At least regarding the yellowish discoloration on the underside of the toilet seat, my friend recently complained quite a bit. I assume that nothing was splashed up from the porcelain during use, but that it is caused by the “spitting” of the bowl – which would also mean that there are (albeit minimal) urine residues on the floor as a result.

(Before anyone asks: everything comes from a plumbing company and we are still monitoring how it develops)
