Becca19815 Aug 2016 19:33Hi IKEA fans,
I’m new here and quite desperate, so I’m hoping for your help.
I bought a used Faktum base cabinet (40cm (16 inches) wide) with three drawers — but it came without any instructions.
My plan was to replace the drawer fronts with new ones.
For the last generation before Faktum was discontinued, I know how to do that, but these drawers seem older (and heavier), and I just don’t seem knowledgeable enough to remove the front!?!
To remove the front of the shallow drawer, you have to push up a small metal piece on the side with a screwdriver, and then it detaches... but I can’t do that with the deep drawers because the rods are still there, and they seem firmly glued or screwed to the front.
I can’t get any further from the back of the drawer either...
Can anyone help me?
I’ve taken photos to show which “model” of drawers I have, but I can’t upload them here.
Looking forward to any support and I hope it’s okay that I started a new topic — I couldn’t find anything specific about this drawer type...
Best regards,
Becca1981

Becca19815 Aug 2016 22:06IKEA expert, thank you!
Finally, finally, finally I have the solution (and apparently I was always searching on YouTube using the wrong terms) and I have already removed one rod as a test (the rest will follow).
I’m overjoyed and even happier now that this forum exists.
Thanks again and have a wonderful weekend!
Best regards,
Rebecca

Which keywords should I add to make the video easier to find on YouTube?

Becca19819 Aug 2016 08:13I was always searching for "rational drawer (deep) front change (remove)" or something similar. "Rail" never occurred to me. I didn’t know why it was sticking or where to start. Your video only refers to the bar, so the title fits. I just searched more extensively and couldn’t find anything...
Thanks again anyway!
Wishing you a good week
