Hello everyone!

Unfortunately, we did not receive the best advice at our furniture store. Our kitchen has the Grip handles installed, and of course, the soft-close drawer dampers were sold to us as well. However, the top drawers are really hard to open because you can’t properly pull on the handle, which is directly flush with the countertop.

Now we want to remove the drawer dampers so the drawers open more easily. But they won’t come out.
Does anyone know how to remove them?

Thanks!

Ok, I managed to get them out... but the doors still don’t open any easier.

I don't understand, what do the handles of the drawers have to do with the doors?

I obviously mean the drawers... this kitchen is driving me crazy...

Hello,
the issue is not the dampers but the springs that pull the drawer closed and hold it shut in the last few centimeters (inches). You can try to unhook the spring on one side of the rail. If you do this on both sides, the drawers might not stay closed.
Since the GRIP handles are only screwed in from the inside and the front is not drilled through, you could also simply replace the handles.

We will do that now as well – so we will replace the handles. I just find it frustrating that nobody at Ikea mentions that there can be issues with the handles... well...
