I’m glad to have found you, as I can’t go to IKEA at the moment but have a few questions—maybe you can help me.
I’m looking for a shelf to place at the foot of my EKEBERG bed (1.40m (4 ft 7 in) wide) to put the TV on. I found the BITRÄDE shelf online, which fits better in terms of size than the EXPEDIT, which, when tilted, would slightly extend beyond the sides of the bed.
Now my questions:
Is it possible to safely lay the BITRÄDE on its side? And which storage boxes (e.g., LEKMAN boxes or those compatible with EXPEDIT) fit inside?
Here is a layout of my room
The Biträde is meant to replace the two small Expedit units I originally planned to use.
Thank you very much in advance for your help!

If they are not dowelled in, the shelves (however you arrange them) will constantly fall over, and you will also have an issue with stability. Over time, the shelf will bend under the weight. If the shelves are dowelled in, you won’t have any stability problems. It should easily support the load.
Unfortunately, I can’t tell you which boxes will fit. I recommend visiting IKEA to see how the sample pieces look. They often show possible solutions there...

thanks for the tips, now I know what to watch out for.
It will just take a little while until I can go back to IKEA. ^^
Best regards, Nessa
