Hello everyone,

Should I place the drain in a walk-in, tiled shower with a slope towards the center or rather against the wall? The shower will be 1 meter by 1 meter (3 ft 3 in by 3 ft 3 in).

Thanks and best regards

The middle is the worst place: then you end up standing in a "funnel," and the angled cuts of the floor tiles, which are not clean miters because of the slope, all lead there. So either a slope in one direction with the drain at the center of the wall side, or a slope in two directions with the drain in the corner.

The picture clearly shows an elegant solution for the problem caused by the slope creating "acute angles" at the joint points of the tiles for the four funnel segments: simply cut the tiles again.

We are installing a stainless steel channel drain that will be tiled over, positioned flush with the wall edge. It should also be easy to clean.
