Hello!
We are considering installing in our open living area on the ground floor
a) XXL porcelain stoneware tiles, either 1 x 1 m (3.3 x 3.3 ft) or 1.2 x 1.2 m (4 x 4 ft),
and using the same material/finish also
b) for the kitchen countertop.

Questions:
1. Has anyone here installed something like this before?
2. Any pictures?
3. Can you recommend any suppliers?

We are currently planning to go with a concrete look.

A friend of mine made those. The countertop was made from the same floor tiles. The tiles were glued together (I believe with an epoxy adhesive) under a press. This leaves only a thin line visible in the middle of the joined surface. I think I have described this somewhere else here before, also with pictures.

We had a self-tiled raised floor. Yes, epoxy adhesive or something similar. That was a long time ago. At that time, wider and smaller tiles were popular. The adhesive was acid-resistant, like those used in a chemical laboratory.

Just use Dekton for the countertop. It has better properties and comes in various concrete-look finishes. I don’t see any reason why the flooring and countertop should be the same.

... and it is one of the most expensive options for a countertop you can imagine.

Based on the original poster’s question, it sounds like they don’t want to spend several thousand euros on a countertop that doesn’t even match the floor.

P.S. I also like some variation and wouldn’t choose the floor and countertop to be exactly the same. Although ceramic or quartz composite would be my first choice, followed by solid wood.
