Hello everyone,

What ceiling height do you consider practical? Right now, it is planned at 2.45 meters (8 feet). Would you go higher, or do you think this height is fine?

Maybe it can still be adjusted.

Thanks and regards

I wouldn’t go any taller than you have planned.

The next height would be 272.5cm (107 inches)... do you think that would be too high and look odd? Or feel strange when standing in the room?

I have 2.72 m (9 feet) ceiling height in all rooms and am very satisfied with it.

How large are your rooms?
Do you have the ceiling height for the ground floor and upper floor?

I believe that a difference of 10-15cm (4-6 inches) is not very significant. Of course, ceiling heights below 245cm (8 feet) are generally avoided nowadays, and ceilings over 3 meters (10 feet) are rather rare, or the rooms should be sufficiently large in that case (a 9m² (97ft²) guest room might then look a bit odd). Between these heights, it mostly comes down to personal preference. A 45m² (484ft²) living room can feel comfortable with either 245cm (8 feet) or 280cm (9 feet 2 inches) ceilings. Much of it is also a matter of habit. I don’t believe there is a significant loss of comfort if you have 260cm (8 feet 6.5 inches) instead of 275cm (9 feet), even if you might later find the higher ceiling slightly more appealing.

If you plan to install a dropped ceiling or hanging lamps at some point, it’s generally better to plan for a slightly higher ceiling.

Yes, on all floors. The living room is 60 m² (645 sq ft), the bedroom 27 m² (290 sq ft), and the guest room only 18 m² (194 sq ft) – looks good in all rooms.
