Hello everyone,

you’re amazing – I’ve already learned so much from you, saving time and stress. Now I have a question that doesn’t seem to have been answered yet.

My project:
* 40cm (16 inches) wide Metod cabinet in the pantry
* several drawers
* I want to keep it organized inside, so I was thinking about the VARIERA boxes

Now the main questions:
* Can two VARIERA boxes measuring 34x24cm (13x9.5 inches) fit into the narrow but deep Maximera drawer (approx. 32x50cm (13x20 inches) inside, 40x60cm (16x24 inches) cabinet outside)?
* Can four VARIERA boxes measuring 17x24cm (7x9.5 inches) fit into the same drawer?

Mathematically no, since 34cm (13 inches) > 32cm (13 inches), but since both the boxes and the drawer narrow slightly towards the bottom, it might still fit.
Has anyone tried this and can confirm or deny that it fits? Photos are welcome.

(Thanks robi_aus_ffm for the explanation on how to upload pictures!)

Thanks so much in advance and best regards

The main drawback is that with almost all services (including the one mentioned), photos are deleted after a certain period (sometimes only after they haven’t been accessed for a while). This often makes it difficult to follow older threads because the images may be missing, making the thread at least partially unclear. That’s why it’s better to upload the pictures here...

Best regards,

Learned something new again
I know from other forums it’s often the other way around. There they try to keep the database small

So from now on, my pictures will be uploaded here

Take a look at the pictures, two fit side by side. But...
in one photo, you can see there is some "air" between the bottom of the drawer and the Variera.
Because of this and the rounding at the bottom, it slides slightly to the side and becomes tilted.

Hi Robi,

thank you very much for the pictures. The result is very clear.
It’s unfortunate that it doesn’t fit.
Good that I know now.

Tillsluta is a good alternative. Thanks for the tip.

You could line the drawer with a board or similar, where the boxes can be placed. That way, nothing can slip or move around.
