Three months ago, I received my Udden modular kitchen via freight.
Earlier today, while cooking and using the extractor hood, it suddenly turned off after a few minutes.
However, the light still works and can be switched on and off.
After a few minutes, I turned the extractor hood back on to check if it was really broken, and surprisingly, it worked again.
Is it normal for an extractor hood to turn off by itself, or is it defective?
I no longer have the original packaging for the extractor hood.
Is it possible to exchange the extractor hood at one of the many IKEA stores here in Düsseldorf, or what should I do?

If it turns off by itself, it could also be dirty and therefore triggering a sort of emergency shutdown. However, that is not normally expected to happen. I would simply suggest visiting your IKEA store to explain the issue and what’s going on. They will likely be able to help you and advise you on what to do.

On November 3, 2011, my UDDEN extractor hood was repaired by TS24 Technik Service 24 GmbH & Co. KG Mettmann.
The technician inspected the device, checked the switch and motor, and renewed/checked the connections.
Despite this, the extractor hood turns off again after a few minutes and then switches on again after a few minutes.
Today it was completely different.
When I turned on the extractor hood, I experienced a short circuit.
The extractor hood, including the light, turned off, and the circuit breaker also tripped, so I had to reset the breaker.
Now I am wondering what could be faulty or what exactly the technician did?
I have had the extractor hood since July 23, 2011.
Since I still have a warranty on it, can I exchange the extractor hood for a new one at IKEA Düsseldorf?
Or could the problem possibly be related to the charcoal filter?
