First of all, a warm hello to everyone with my very first post!

Now to my question: Has anyone already used the new mobile TILREDA induction cooktop at home and can share their experience?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I would be interested as well. Do you have it by now?

Hello everyone,

I have been interested in an induction cooktop for a while. Induction hobs are not new to me, and I knew what to expect. I have also used individual induction burners in the lower price range before, which were more or less disappointing in terms of quality [i.e., okay].

The TILLREDA looked promising. Unfortunately, there are hardly any user reviews available online. I want to change that here, at least.

I thought, since IKEA offers a one-year return policy, I would take the risk and buy it. If it really turned out to be a flop, I could just return it.

I had to pick up a goods receipt in the IKEA kitchen department. The sales assistant there praised it to the skies and even walked with me to the showroom kitchen to show how nicely the cooktop can be hung on the wall thanks to the extendable handle.
“It even won some award!” (I know: red dot Design award )

At home, of course, I unpacked the cooktop right away.
It was well packaged, relatively heavy, and also bigger than the ones I had used before.
The feet are non-slip (which is not always a given with some manufacturers).
The touch controls are sometimes a bit too sensitive, but that’s better than the other way around.
What bothers me is the jump from level 1 to 9—that is, from the lowest power setting directly to the highest.
The child lock and timer are useful extra features.
I also find the pause button innovative. It pauses cooking, for example at level 9, and switches to “keep warm” mode (the lowest setting). There are no unnecessary gimmicks like preset program buttons.
The fan runs on after switching off, but not excessively long like with some other cooktops.
The noise level is still reasonable.
The main reason for me, besides the completely flat surface, is that the lowest setting corresponds to 100W power (for example, Tefal starts at 450W—which I think is already too high).

I hope my brief report can help you with your purchasing decision. Sorry if it seems a bit disorganized and doesn’t qualify as a full review. If I notice any other positive or negative aspects, I will update my report. Of course, feel free to ask any questions.

Best regards

Thanks muntergunter for your report!

I don’t have the unit myself yet; I’m still hesitating...
