Although I have looked through the instructions, it is still unclear how exactly to position the drawer slides and in what precise order the drawers should be inserted. Are there any particular steps in the sequence or important details that should not be overlooked?

Hello, I would like to add some information because I can imagine that the overall picture can sometimes be confusing.
The assembly of the IKEA Brimnes drawers basically involves two main steps:
- Installing the metal runners inside the cabinet carcass
- Inserting and securing the drawers themselves
When installing the metal runners, it is important to ensure an even height on both sides, as this is essential for smooth operation and proper fit of the drawer.
For inserting the drawer:
- Hold the drawer slightly tilted at the front
- Align the rollers (plastic wheels) with the runner tracks
- Gently slide the drawer in until it clicks into place
I also recommend checking before final assembly that none of the screws are over-tightened or too loose. This can cause misalignment or slight sticking.
If the cabinet wobbles slightly later on, try tightening the screws on the runners. With repeated opening and closing, small parts can also adjust themselves slightly.
As already mentioned, cleaning the runner tracks helps a lot with drawers that are hard to slide.
