Hello everyone, I recently bought a Brimnes bed from Ikea and noticed some potential assembly issues while putting it together. The instructions are pretty straightforward, but I feel that some of the drilled holes are not quite accurate, or the screws don’t seem to lock properly. My question is: what is the best way to handle assembly problems with the Ikea BRIMNES? Are there proven methods to identify and fix these issues, or to involve Ikea if needed? I want to avoid having weak points or compromising the stability after assembly. Looking forward to your experiences and advice!

I would also recommend never fastening the entire piece of furniture all at once, but rather checking step by step. This is often underestimated, yet it prevents many assembly errors.

An additional tip from my experience: When in doubt, it’s better to spend more time aligning and testing rather than tightening everything too quickly. Especially with multiplex materials in the Brimnes, too much pressure can damage the surface.

Thank you very much for all the helpful tips! To summarize, if there are assembly errors, I will first:
- Check all parts and ensure everything is complete
- Avoid using force and instead look for misalignments
- Request replacement parts from Ikea for critical components
- Tighten screws carefully using the correct tools only
- Assemble step by step and realign frequently

This sounds like a practical plan to avoid the most common assembly mistakes with the BRIMNES. I will keep you updated if I have any further questions.

Glad to hear you have a clear plan. It’s also important to approach the installation calmly, without rushing. If you have trouble identifying the problem, we can definitely help here. You’re not alone with these challenges.

An additional note: If possible, document the issues in writing, for example which holes do not align or screws do not fit. This will facilitate communication with customer service and help avoid delays when ordering replacement parts.

One quick question for the experts: How long does it usually take for Ikea to deliver replacement parts? I want to know if the time required for a claim is worth it, or if I should rather try some improvised finishing work.
