Hello everyone, I recently bought a Brimnes bed from Ikea and noticed some potential assembly issues while putting it together. The instructions are pretty straightforward, but I feel that some of the drilled holes are not quite accurate, or the screws don’t seem to lock properly. My question is: what is the best way to handle assembly problems with the Ikea BRIMNES? Are there proven methods to identify and fix these issues, or to involve Ikea if needed? I want to avoid having weak points or compromising the stability after assembly. Looking forward to your experiences and advice!

If screws do not fit or holes do not align, simply contact Ikea customer service to request replacement parts. Follow the assembly instructions carefully; small inaccuracies are sometimes normal.

I once assembled my BRIMNES incorrectly too – no need to panic! 😅 Just go through the steps again carefully, sometimes the mistake is caused by the wrong order or a part that’s slightly out of place. And if you still can’t figure it out, Ikea’s delivery service is really quick to help.

Basically, the BRIMNES model is quite solid, but occasional manufacturing tolerances can cause fitting inaccuracies. It is important to assemble all parts temporarily before final fixing to identify any misalignments in time. If holes do not fit properly, they can sometimes be carefully adjusted with a small Phillips screwdriver bit, but only with experience.

If parts don't fit, it's best not to force them. Often, the part will fit only after other screws are already secured. Alternatively, request replacement parts.

My tip: Sort all parts before assembly and immediately check whether all screws, anchors, and building components are complete and undamaged. Any incorrect screw or warped part should be reported right away, as later warranty claims can be difficult. This way, you avoid future issues with stability.
