Hello everyone, I am planning to install an Ikea Metod kitchen in my rental apartment. Since I want to work as carefully and neatly as possible—after all, it concerns the condition of the rental property—I have a few questions: How can I mount the Metod kitchen cabinets securely and firmly to the wall without causing unnecessary damage? Are there specific techniques or preferred materials (e.g., types of wall anchors, screws) that are particularly suitable for fastening in rental apartments? I also want to make sure that everything can be removed with as little residue and repair work as possible when I eventually move out. I would appreciate any tips on precise alignment, the choice of screws and wall anchors, and how to avoid wall damage!

As an addition: When working with brick walls, always make sure to space the anchor holes about 10 cm (4 inches) apart to avoid weakening the wall.

The mounting strip increases stability by distributing the weight across several anchors. It also allows for precise height adjustment before final installation of the cabinets.

You can also assemble entire cabinet groups on the floor first to check height, width, and alignment before hanging them on the strip.

Installing baseboards: These are less load-bearing, but multiple fastenings with clips or small screws provide long-lasting stability.

Finally, it is important to use standard screws with sufficient thread length for the load. Screws that are too short cannot be securely tightened.
