The sticking effect is actually present from the very beginning. I took the drawers out of the box and assembled them for the first time. As soon as I inserted them, I immediately noticed that the drawer sticks at the lower part – it feels like the track or the roller bearing is not running smoothly. The drawers are still quite parallel vertically, but there might be some lateral play. I rule out uneven installation of the cabinet since it stands stable and level. I wonder if the tracks are supposed to be pre-oiled or require maintenance?

The IKEA BESTÅ drawer slides are usually delivered without lubrication and work fine without it. However, dust or manufacturing residues can slow down the rollers. My recommendation:

- Remove the drawer and clean the slide rails with a lint-free cloth.
- If needed, apply a small amount of silicone spray or PTFE-based lubricant on the rollers and slide rails. Avoid using oil, as it attracts dirt.
