Hello everyone, I am currently working on optimizing the use of Ikea Metod corner cabinets and am looking for helpful tips and strategies here in the forum.

My goal is not only to use these corner cabinets in a space-saving way but also to organize them as functionally as possible. I am particularly interested in which interior fittings have proven effective, how to maximize storage capacity, and whether there are any recommended accessories that make handling easier.

I would also like to know how others deal with the often quite deep interior space, which is not always easy to access due to the corner design.

Does anyone have experience with rotating carousels, pull-outs, or special shelving systems in these cabinets? How can the storage space be best structured so that access to all areas is quick and effortless?

Looking forward to your specific recommendations and personal experiences.

The Ikea carousels are suitable for light to medium-weight dishes. However, they are not ideal for very heavy pots, as they only support a certain maximum load.

I have switched to pull-out shelves, which can carry more weight and are more stable.

Tip: When planning, pay attention to the load capacity and consider using pull-out shelves if the cabinet will be used frequently.

In short: corner cabinets are the unsung heroes of the kitchen, but also the trickiest challenge! 😄

What really helps – whether it’s a carousel or a pull-out – is smart organization.
- Small baskets or boxes for loose items
- Smooth surfaces so everything slides easily
- And yes, don’t forget better lighting; it makes the search for your favorite cooking pot much more pleasant!

Have you ever considered adding small clips or hooks inside the cabinet? They’re great for storing odds and ends or lids.

You just need to be a bit creative, but with the right idea, the corner cabinet can become a space-saving marvel with personality.

For long-term use, I generally recommend high-quality pull-out shelves instead of standard carousel units.

They provide better access and are more ergonomic, especially when frequently reaching for heavy items.

IKEA’s mounting hardware is solid, but third-party manufacturers like Blum often offer more durable rail systems with smoother operation and higher load capacity.

Important: Measure carefully, as Metod corner cabinets are designed differently from straight models.

Nice idea, because it allows you to organize smaller items really well.

I also installed so-called "plate racks" in my Metod corner unit – I found it to be an unusual but very practical solution for storing cutting boards and similar items. It works great because you store them almost vertically, which saves a lot of space.

And yes, lighting is also not to be underestimated – with small LED strips inside, the cabinet immediately gains more appeal.
