Hello everyone, I have been experiencing issues with my Ikea Platsa drawers for some time. They stick when pulling out or pushing in, which makes opening them noticeably difficult. The drawers run on plastic rollers and tracks, which appear undamaged at first glance but might not be properly adjusted. Are there any proven methods to fix this sticking problem? I am especially interested in specific steps to check and adjust the drawer slides, possible cleaning tips, or advice regarding replacement parts. I look forward to detailed suggestions that go beyond the surface and may include technical explanations. Thanks in advance!

If it still sticks, gently rounding off the rollers with fine sandpaper (e.g., grit 600) can often help, especially if sharp edges have developed. This should be done very carefully, however, as removing too much material can worsen the fit and cause wobbling. In general, replacing the rollers after several years of use is often the better solution, since plastic tends to become brittle over time.

Graphite is dry, does not attract dirt, and reduces friction. That’s a very good tip! However, I would add that all residues from other lubricants should be thoroughly removed before applying graphite, as it will lose its effectiveness otherwise. Also, be careful not to apply the powder too generously, as it can spread to other areas and attract dust.
