Good morning everyone,

I recently purchased a Malm piece of furniture from IKEA and wanted to find the official warranty list. Unfortunately, I can’t find a directly accessible and complete list that clearly details the different Malm products and their warranty terms. My question is: How can I find the official warranty list for Malm furniture, meaning an overview that clearly and understandably states which models are covered under what conditions and for how long IKEA’s warranty applies?

I have already searched the IKEA website, but the information is either scattered or very general. Is there a reliable source, preferably directly from IKEA, where these details can be easily accessed?

Thanks in advance for your help!

The official warranty list for Malm and other IKEA products is not actually available as a single, comprehensive, publicly accessible file on the IKEA website. IKEA usually provides warranty information specific to each product within the product descriptions or warranty conditions.

I recommend checking the product page of the respective Malm item directly on the IKEA website. There, you will usually find details about the duration and terms under “Product Details” or in the “Warranty” section.

If you want a consolidated list, IKEA customer service might be a better option – they can usually send you the relevant documents or summaries.

Hello danla,

to answer your question in more detail: IKEA does offer a standard warranty for furniture like the Malm series, which usually lasts several years (often 10 years on main components). However, this warranty depends on the product and sometimes also on the country where you purchased it.

As far as I know, there is no official "warranty list" that summarizes all products publicly. Instead, you can typically find the warranty conditions on the IKEA Germany website under the menu “Service” -> “Warranty,” or in PDF format with individual product descriptions.

If you need the warranty terms for your specific model, the manual or warranty booklet included with the delivery often helps.

If you plan to create a collection of this information, I would recommend contacting customer service—they can provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date details.

Thanks for the information, I hadn’t expected that, but it’s good to know that the list isn’t available online as a complete overview.

Can you say whether there is an official product warranty for Malm anywhere in paper form or as a PDF – perhaps for the retailer or the customer – that can at least be downloaded as an attachment somewhere?

I want to know exactly what IKEA offers as warranty coverage for the individual Malm drawers or cabinet types, including any possible usage restrictions or exceptions.

That’s a good question. I’m aware that IKEA offers warranty brochures to its customers in Germany, but these are usually displayed in the store or printed upon request. They are rarely freely accessible online.

What you can try is to contact IKEA Germany or the Malm-specific service by email or in-store to request such brochures or warranty terms.

Additionally, the IKEA website often has PDF files with product descriptions that include warranty information. You need to search for the exact Malm model in the store, then click on “product information” or “PDF for product” – warranty terms might be listed there.

Also, in your customer account, you can access order history and documents – sometimes warranty information is stored there.

If you want, you can call IKEA customer service directly and ask for an official warranty overview. They usually send you a PDF or document by email.

Otherwise, as already mentioned: the warranty terms are listed on the product pages or in the manual.
