Good morning everyone,
I recently purchased a Malm piece of furniture from IKEA and wanted to find the official warranty list. Unfortunately, I can’t find a directly accessible and complete list that clearly details the different Malm products and their warranty terms. My question is: How can I find the official warranty list for Malm furniture, meaning an overview that clearly and understandably states which models are covered under what conditions and for how long IKEA’s warranty applies?
I have already searched the IKEA website, but the information is either scattered or very general. Is there a reliable source, preferably directly from IKEA, where these details can be easily accessed?
Thanks in advance for your help!

A quick question to the group: How does IKEA actually define the 'warranty' for Malm? It is often mentioned as 10 years, but this usually refers to a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty—a kind of goodwill service—and not the statutory warranty, which is only 2 years.
Are there reliable sources that clearly outline the conditions and possible exceptions?
Perhaps this can help clarify the understanding so that the term "official warranty list" is more clearly defined here.

For clarification:
In Germany, IKEA offers a voluntary manufacturer’s warranty of up to 10 years on certain components of Malm furniture (e.g., carcass, drawer fronts). This warranty covers material and manufacturing defects but does not include consequential damages caused by improper use or normal wear and tear.
An "official warranty list" containing all Malm models as a complete document is not publicly available. Instead, warranty information is included in IKEA’s warranty declaration document, which is product-specific.
For detailed warranty terms, it is recommended to contact IKEA customer service to obtain the current conditions for the specific product.
The statutory 2-year warranty remains unaffected.

The 10-year guarantee usually covers only the construction and functionality of the furniture parts, not wear and tear or damage caused by improper use.
Even if no official "list" is published, a warranty statement should be included with every product description.
Hi everyone 🙂
You hit the nail on the head – the term "warranty" is often mixed up with all sorts of things.
So, if anyone is looking for a clear overview of what the 10-year warranty for Malm actually covers, just go to the IKEA website -> product page -> scroll all the way down -> warranty information, and if you have doubts, give them a call.
I requested a copy of the warranty terms myself. It’s not a bulky PDF with 100 pages, but for the sofa or the drawer, it clearly states what is covered and how to properly make a claim.
And a little tip: the customer service is quite friendly, so don’t hesitate to call! 😉

For some people, it might also be helpful to know whether IKEA provides these warranty terms in paper form with each Malm piece of furniture? So that when unpacking the drawer, there is a written document clearly stating what the warranty covers?
Or is everything only available online, and you have to look up the terms yourself? I ask because I want to make sure that if I need to make a claim, I have something reliable that counts as an official warranty proof.
Response to the question about the warranty document upon delivery:
IKEA usually provides a warranty card or flyer with larger furniture items like Malm, either loose or included in the manual. It typically outlines in writing what the warranty covers and how to claim it.
If this document is missing, it is not a problem: the proof of purchase and the product’s serial number generally suffice as evidence.
Customer service can then officially confirm the warranty terms at any time in case of complaints.
In short: having the paper is helpful, but with the proof of purchase and product number, you are also officially covered.
