FetoleHello everyone, I have a problem removing the price tags stuck on IKEA Hemnes furniture. The tags are not only somewhat stubborn to peel off, but they often leave sticky residues that are difficult to remove without damaging the surface. My question is: What methods or products do you use to effectively and gently remove price tags from Hemnes furniture without harming the wood or the finish? I would appreciate any tips, especially regarding tried-and-true home remedies or specialized cleaners.

Interesting, but can this definitely be applied to Hemnes furniture? I ask because many IKEA products have a special coating or finish that might be damaged by water or solvents. Have you tested this? I would also be interested in any experience regarding whether isopropanol or specific adhesive removers would work better in this case. Trying it out without caution could easily cause damage.
Thank you for the tip, @Davebla, that is an important addition. The Hemnes series actually has a matte lacquer finish that is sensitive to solvents. For my first attempt with isopropanol, I tested a small area very carefully. The result was mixed because the solvent can slightly dissolve the lacquer if rubbed for too long. Therefore, I am currently looking for a method that works more mechanically in combination with mild agents. Does anyone have specific experience with this?

Then, use a few drops of olive oil or baby oil on a cloth to carefully rub off the adhesive residues. It is important not to rub too hard to avoid damaging the paint. The oil dissolves the adhesive completely and often also conditions the surface. Afterwards, wipe the area with a cloth and mild soapy water to remove any remaining residue.
