Hello everyone, I am considering organizing my craft supplies better and thought about using the Ikea Pax system. My question is quite specific: What is the best way to use the Ikea Pax system as a storage solution for a wide variety of craft materials? I have a broad range of items—from small beads, yarn, and pens to larger things like sheets of paper and tools. Has anyone had experience with how to effectively divide the Pax wardrobes, which storage boxes or interior fittings work well, and whether the system is recommended for clear and organized craft storage? I would really appreciate tips on the best interior components, possible customizations, and practical advice!

I recently equipped my craft room with Pax, and it turned out really great!

That sounds fantastic! Having a well-organized craft space really makes a big difference. I think with the Pax system, it almost feels like a little craft paradise—everything neatly arranged yet easily accessible.

My advice: If you divide the wardrobe into sections—such as one for tools, one for small parts, and one for paper—it makes finding things much easier. And don’t forget, using some color coding can make searching a breeze. Simply sort boxes or compartments by color, for example, red for small parts and blue for threads.

Keep enjoying these kinds of projects! 😊

Magnetic strips on the doors provide quick access to tools like scissors or cutters. Shallow drawers are perfect for laminating sheets or large papers. In general: store everything you use frequently at eye level.

In addition to the previous input, I would like to emphasize the importance of drawer height. For paper sizes, drawers with at least 35 cm (14 inches) in height are best, as otherwise you might have issues with folded sheets. I would also recommend not placing paper directly on the drawer bottom but using a divider to prevent the stack from shifting.

For small parts, modular inserts that can be combined as needed are ideal. When choosing boxes, make sure they are stackable and transparent—this way, you always have a clear overview.

One more tip for tools: if you mount hooks or magnets on the side walls, you can store tools vertically, which saves space.

How is the natural light at your storage location? Good lighting really helps with visibility and reduces the time spent searching.
