Hello everyone, I’m looking for good ideas and suggestions on how to adapt the Ikea PAX wardrobe system specifically for storing office supplies. It’s especially important to me that the system remains as flexible as possible, is easy to organize, and can neatly accommodate smaller items like pens, sticky notes, or cables. Maybe some of you have experience with adjusting the shelves, installing additional drawers, or using suitable organizer elements? Any advice on the optimal layout and how to manage different types of materials would also be very helpful. What custom modifications or additions make sense to design the PAX wardrobe ergonomically and clearly for office needs? Thanks in advance for your tips!

I installed additional drawers in my PAX wardrobe, which can be added individually. Small boxes or compartments made of plastic, which you simply place on the shelves, are also worthwhile. For cables, cable ties and hooks on the inside of the doors are helpful.

To adapt the Ikea PAX wardrobe effectively for office supplies, I recommend the following approach:

- First, optimize the existing shelves by adjusting them to suit your needs. For example, smaller compartment heights can be useful for storing pens and stationery.

- Installing drawers of various sizes is very practical, especially for small items like paper clips, USB drives, or sticky notes. There are inserts available that fit precisely into the wardrobe.

- Doors can be enhanced with additional storage options, such as hook rails or small storage pockets, which create extra space without taking up room inside.

- Important: When planning, make sure frequently used items are stored at waist or eye level to maintain ergonomic working conditions.

Tip: Measure your materials beforehand and plan the storage space accordingly to avoid purchasing unsuitable accessories.

I find this topic really interesting because I, too, spent a long time searching for a way to better organize my workspace. I fully understand how frustrating it can be when you’re constantly looking for things or running out of space.

That’s why I decided to enhance the PAX with a few removable organizers, so I can stay flexible at any time and don’t have to completely rebuild everything all the time. The small compartments for pens and paper clips especially helped me a lot, since I used to keep everything in one large drawer, which inevitably led to a mess.

Of course, it wasn’t perfect at the beginning—I sometimes bought a part twice or had to make awkward adjustments—but I guess that’s part of the process. The important thing is to take your time and not expect everything to be perfect right away.

I hope this also gives you a bit of encouragement to take on the reorganization!

Hello Raulkin, regarding organizing office supplies in the PAX wardrobe, here are some tips from my experience:

- To store small office items efficiently, flexible organizing boxes or modular inserts matched to the PAX width work well. You can choose these in plastic or wood depending on the look you prefer.

- For larger documents or folders, wide drawers or shelves are practical. I recommend setting the shelves at a height that is easy to reach.

- A smart solution is to attach magnetic strips to the inside of the doors. This way, you can keep paper clips, keys, or small tools within easy reach.

- When planning, consider how frequently you use each item. Frequently used supplies should be placed in easily accessible areas.

- The conversion should be designed so you can later swap or expand the modules as needed. Ikea also offers additional accessories specifically for the PAX wardrobe that can be flexibly integrated.

I hope this helps you find the perfect setup for your daily office needs!
