Hello everyone, I am currently considering how to use IKEA Platsa furniture effectively in the wet area of my bathroom. I am particularly interested in aspects such as moisture resistance, storage optimization, and the practical integration of sinks or taps. Are there any experiences regarding how durable and long-lasting Platsa components are when exposed to moisture, and what modifications are necessary to create a safe and functional bathroom solution? Additionally, it would be helpful to know which combinations of the Platsa systems are especially suitable for small to medium-sized bathrooms. Thanks in advance for your tips and suggestions!

Tip: Use Platsa only in dry areas of the bathroom. For damp spots, there are better options than chipboard furniture.

If you want to use PLATSA in the bathroom, seal the surfaces with clear varnish and make sure no standing moisture occurs. This will help it last longer.

PLATSA uses chipboard-based modules, which can definitely swell or get damaged when exposed to high humidity and water droplets.

I completely agree with this. For bathroom areas, furniture made from water-resistant materials or specifically designed for damp environments is preferable. If PLATSA is chosen nonetheless, thorough sealing and regular inspections are essential to detect and prevent moisture-related damage at an early stage.
