The modules are currently set up more for living room purposes but are now intended to serve as storage and also as a design element next to and possibly behind the bed. I am especially interested in practical tips for integrating lighting, material modifications to create a more pleasant appearance, and perhaps clever ideas for using them as a nightstand or to prevent dust buildup in closed cabinets. Does anyone have experience with customized Besta modifications specifically tailored for bedroom use? Thanks for your ideas!

Good point. I mainly want to store clothes, bedding, and smaller personal items. Integrated solutions for charging stations or small shelves for glasses and books are also of interest. My bedroom is medium-sized, about 14m² (150 square feet), and relatively dry. For that reason, I am looking for a practical yet aesthetically pleasing solution.

If you want to store clothing, I recommend lockable doors or boxes to keep dust out. For chargers, cable grommets are important, which Ikea offers as accessories.

That sounds like an exciting project! 😊 I modified my Besta so that one module is used as a shelf with glass doors, which looks really elegant and protects the contents from dust. Additionally, I installed small spotlights that create a cozy atmosphere. You can also apply wallpaper or films to the back panel to add color and texture!
