Hello everyone,
I am planning to redesign my kitchen using IKEA Metod cabinets, but I want to make the storage as flexible as possible. My question is: How can I use IKEA Metod cabinets effectively and flexibly to create more storage space without wasting too much room?
I am especially interested in solutions that cover different usage requirements, such as adjustable compartment layouts, accommodation for kitchen utensils of various sizes, and whether modular elements combine well with each other.
I look forward to your ideas and experiences!

Could you perhaps explain that in a bit more detail?Yes, exactly, that’s what I mean too! Sometimes storage space is not just inside the cabinet, but also in the room height. IKEA Metod cabinet boxes can often be combined at different heights, for example by stacking 40cm (16 inches) tall boxes on top of lower cabinets, which creates additional storage space.
You can also use corner units with rotating shelves or carousels, making access easier and using the space more efficiently! It’s worth being more adventurous with the planning here 😊

From my experience, it often helps to first identify the items you use frequently and then place them within easy reach in the cabinets.
Flexibility also means being able to rearrange later on, for example, if you buy a new kitchen appliance or your eating habits change. Therefore, I recommend not filling all the compartments completely at first, but planning modularly, including some extras like wall cabinets or cabinet extensions.
