Hello everyone,

I am looking for a house number for our new build. Could you please share your house numbers or ideas here? Also, what else should I keep in mind?

My criteria:
- high quality
- easy to read

Thanks!

Just like with us. To be precise, white on "Munich Blue."
We didn't have to take care of anything ourselves. The municipality handed us the sign along with the invoice.

It's unusual if you're not familiar with it. May I ask how much the invoice was?

17€ if I remember correctly.

That’s quite reasonable.

How durable and recommendable are the solar house numbers?

It partly depends on the orientation of the front door. If the front door faces north, the sunlight is usually not enough to charge the battery. I wanted this too and did a test with a regular solar lamp. It only provided light occasionally and very weakly. Our additional solar terrace lights on the south side only light up if it has been sunny all day. Only the solar string lights and torches still shine. There might be better quality options for higher yield, but to truly stay lit all night – especially if there is an overhang – probably not. Please note, this is just a non-expert opinion :-)

We placed our house number under the up-and-down spotlight. Whenever someone comes by, we turn on the exterior lighting anyway, so it’s visible then. Otherwise, we find our very simple house number made of anthracite-painted steel quite nice, but we were shocked at how hard it actually is to see it from the street.

Anyway, it will stay that way. Most of the time, we just say: the wooden house on the street. That gives us a unique feature, and everyone has found it so far.
