Hello everyone,

I am looking for a house number for our new build. Could you please share your house numbers or ideas here? Also, what else should I keep in mind?

My criteria:
- high quality
- easy to read

Thanks!

I could imagine our garage like this...

Having the house number on the garage is always a great idea...

Modern white villa with red front door, flat-roof extension, large windows, and garden.

Additionally, we have the glass element in our front door featuring the house number as lettering (of course illuminated).

As far as I know, emergency services also have access to property maps and similar resources. I believe they can reliably locate houses even without visible house numbers. However, it is still important to have a clearly visible house number.

Not even an ambulance or fire truck today typically comes equipped with a navigation system. So, I wouldn’t rely on emergency responders searching maps to find the house.

Finding a house in the dark with a hard-to-see house number can be a real challenge (based on my own experience in the fire service and statements from colleagues working in emergency medical services). Keep in mind that emergency responders are not always familiar with the area, as they may come from quite far away.

If you want to receive help quickly or don’t want to explain your location every time to visitors, delivery drivers, or postal workers, you should simply mark your house clearly and properly.

If you rely on that, you might one day end up as a mummy in the Egyptian Museum.
No, none of the emergency responders carry such data with them or have access to it on site.
In addition, there are very basic but often crucial factors like darkness, rain, and stressed personnel that can make quick assistance difficult.
The importance of easy and fast identification should clearly take priority over design. If both are achieved, even better.

But the control center has access to that, right? I think I saw something about it on TV once.
At least the fire department was able to find us recently when our basement flooded.
