Hello everyone,

I am looking for a house number for our new build. Could you please share your house numbers or ideas here? Also, what else should I keep in mind?

My criteria:
- high quality
- easy to read

Thanks!

@Climbee I think it looks nice but isn’t very visible. However, the mail or parcel carrier knows quickly where to go.

Yes, we also didn’t expect it to "disappear" into the facade like this. As I said, for most people, it just says: the wooden house! I personally believe it would be easier to read if it were mounted 1-2 cm (about 1 inch) higher, but since my dear husband installed it this way, I will refrain from making any criticism on the matter.

At night, all wooden houses look gray, so the house number can be too ;-) The mail carrier should come during the day, and the pizza delivery person can just follow their hunger pangs...

It might only be somewhat critical in the case of an emergency doctor, right?

Our house has no visible house number from the street. For over a year, we have set up temporary markers: a painted stone on the mailbox and a painted board, both placed next to the driveway.

It could also be overlooked in such a situation for us. I’m not going to consider every possible scenario.

For us, the house number will definitely be clearly visible and illuminated. I have already had to use an emergency doctor home service several times, so I am very glad when the responders know exactly where to go.

Twenty years ago, I probably wouldn’t have thought much about this point.

I really like the various hidden styles from Metzler in a mix of stainless steel with anthracite gray. There will also be lighting installed above it.
