Hello,
I’m sharing our design draft here now.
In the plans, north is at the top.
The plot size is 550 sqm (6,000 sq ft).
Eaves height max 4.5 m (15 ft), ridge height max 9.5 m (31 ft).
At first glance, we noticed that the hallway on the ground floor is quite large. We would possibly prefer a smaller hallway and a somewhat bigger living/dining area, but we have no idea how to do this sensibly.
Otherwise, we basically like the overall concept and would want to implement it as is if there are no major planning flaws.
I would appreciate if some critical and helpful feedback could be shared.

@Masipulami That's true. This is also for a Swedish stove... But they probably won't have that either...
@Manu1976 We don't really want to change the layout because of the garden to the south and the street to the north...
The idea with the cabinet could also be an option. Then each of us could have our own "cabinet."
It's difficult... You can see again that everything looks great at first glance, but not so much on closer inspection...

Manu’s proposed layout is equivalent to the current orientation. (At least, that’s what I saw in a quick glance) Smaller entrance hall: integrate the staircase into the living area – it can stay where it is... but then it would be an open-plan living concept.

Unfortunately not quite. The kitchen would then face the garden, and the office, which could also serve as a guest room or an occasional (third) child's bedroom, would face the street. That is actually preferable. Having the kitchen facing the garden means shorter traffic paths when grilling or using the terrace, while the occasional and less frequent use of the office/guest room can do without a nice garden view (which can be distracting or cause glare on the computer screen).
I quite like the floor plan. Even the sofa in the bay window area, as it offers a generous view outside. I also prefer the L-shape layout of the living/dining/kitchen area rather than everything arranged in a straight line.
An open-concept living space could be considered, but as it is now, it feels cozier to me. I personally don’t like having the basement access in the living area, and it seems a bit risky if it’s not properly secured.
I would only make minor changes, such as doors and the walk-in closet. Otherwise, I like it.
Do you already have children? I think a large hallway is always useful for a household of four. Strollers, sports bags, backpacks, coats, shoes, and so on—there always needs to be space for these things.

@ypg Hmm, that's true. I need to discuss this with my wife, who wants the kitchen to overlook the street...
@milkie We don’t have children yet, but the first one is on the way... The couch was the same idea for us. However, the downside is that the couch is always in very bright light. Not ideal for watching TV or taking naps... What do you mean by doors?
