We have now finished the floor plans, and the electrical planning phase is starting. I expect there will be quite a few pencils and erasers used.
Do you have any tips on things that are often forgotten or important points to watch out for?
The basis will be the Busch-Jäger Free@Home system. In the first step, I want to plan the power outlets, then gradually the rest.

Sebastian7923 Dec 2015 09:17May I ask what kind of sound system that is? Old plasma TVs also used a lot of electricity back then – unfortunately, this gave them a lasting bad reputation and led to the decline of this great technology.
The TV wasn’t that old – the picture quality was also good.
The system is a Samsung 7.1 surround sound setup. I picked it up a few years ago as a display model at Geiz&cool for a very cheap price, just by chance when I was actually buying a washing machine.
The salesperson said back then that when it kicks in, it sounds like the Russians are coming. That was true. Watching a movie (like Bond or something) with it is really something that’s fun. The floor actually vibrates for real.

That's just how it is, like in many areas of life...
One person is satisfied with a compact car, while another needs a luxury sedan...
For me, it was never an option to have just a few power outlets and LAN connections here and there... I always hated having all those multi-plug adapters lying around in rental apartments... Besides, they often get overloaded quickly if you’re plugging in more than just a TV, satellite receiver, and Blu-ray player...We don’t have a single multi-plug adapter either. Everyone has to think carefully about where they need power outlets. And it’s better to have one too many than too few.
I don’t need 12 outlets near the TV, but apparently some people do. The outlets I have there are mostly hidden behind the sideboard anyway. On the other hand, we have five double sockets around the kitchen worktop area, and I wouldn’t want to be without those.
PS: Sebastian, this system is a diva. At the time, Samsung tried to enter the market with such devices. The casing is too small despite the fan, and the thermal loads (it gets hot!) cannot be dissipated during continuous high performance, causing it to shut down.
I forgive it for that, since I paid 500,- for it back then after a bit of Swabian bargaining... (1.5 hours of haggling, I always do it that way).

Sebastian7923 Dec 2015 09:31I strongly suspect that you are confusing music power output (RMS) with power consumption.
So, I measure 150 watts during normal use, and up to about 450 to 500 watts at very high volume levels, using an energy meter. The subwoofer is separate (and to my annoyance, the power consumption of the cube is already 30 watts at zero output, so I always turn it off separately).
I measured all the devices here that way. Now I would have to take the unit off the shelf and check the label on the back to see the specified power... please don’t be mad, I’m not in the mood for that today; maybe next time I dust.
But I knew sooner or later you would ask.
Yes... technically, a separate outlet wasn’t necessary... but now she can also plug something else in there, like the vacuum cleaner... to vacuum by the shelf.
