ᐅ Do the hinges stay securely in your KALLAX units? Or do they tend to become loose over time?

Hello everyone,
I have a KALLAX shelf unit from IKEA, and in my case, the door hinges tend to become quite loose after some time. I’m very interested to know how it is for you: do the hinges on your KALLAX hold up well, or do you also experience them getting looser over time?
I’m especially curious if there’s a trick to adjusting or securing the hinges so that the doors remain stable in the long term and don’t sag or wobble. Maybe the installation method or the material of the hinges plays a role?
I’m looking forward to your experiences and tips! Thanks in advance!

I like to use a small amount of medium-strength threadlocker for this kind of thing; it holds really firmlyAbsolutely! I’ve done the same, and since then there’s no more wobbling. It also saves a lot of hassle! 🙂
Also, make sure the doors are properly aligned. That makes a huge difference!
Yes, the topic of hinges in the KALLAX is really interesting!
I had the same problem at first, but then I worked with a combination of tightening screws, small dabs of wood glue, and if needed, larger screws. Since then, everything has stayed very stable! 🙂
And of course, don’t forget to set up the unit precisely – even a slight angle is enough for the doors to hang crooked.

I’ll combine these tips with thread locking and make sure to align the doors properly. I’ll report back on whether this helps in the long run.
Thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences here in such detail, very helpful! 🙂
