My Faktum cabinet fronts have become quite unattractive. The coating on the edges is peeling off the MDF in some places. The original plan was to sand the fronts and repaint them with a new coat of paint, and also install new handles. However, my paint supplier advised against this: due to the surface tension of the new paint, the old coating would continue to lift.
In short, the next idea is to buy new Metod fronts.
My question to the experts here: What should I be aware of?
I would like to reuse the old hinges, but I can’t find any technical specification that shows how they align. Neither for Faktum nor Metod.
The old base cabinets are 70 cm (28 inches) high, but the Metod units are 80 cm (31½ inches). Possibly drilling new holes for the hinges? The fact that the new doors are a bit too long at the bottom is not a major issue. What else should I consider?

Apparently, some Faktum fronts can still be ordered from IKEA. Might be worth considering.I've already checked. The front installed in my kitchen has been discontinued for a long time. And among the ones still available today, not everything is offered anymore. Also, replacing only some of the fronts doesn't really help. There is no longer any after-sales service from Ikea, but you can still find some on eBay or eBay Classifieds from time to time.
You can also commission a cabinetmaker to produce them. Alternatively, there are specialized manufacturers; in Scandinavia, there is a small "custom maker scene." If buying online, then as a last resort, places like Kuechenfront24 or similar suppliers are an option.
PS: I still have some kvadrat fronts stored in the basement...

I simply turned the cabinet doors around. The damaged edge with the swollen MDF above the stove is now positioned at the top, right under the kitchen ceiling, so it’s no longer visible. I just need to reposition the knobs and fill in the unnecessary holes.
