Hello, since we have an L-shaped kitchen with a corner sink and uneven, slanted walls, we have booked the installation service for the countertop, which will take place next Friday.

What exactly do the countertop installers do? Do they cut holes, fit the countertop, and if necessary, adjust and cut for slanted walls?

They will also need to move all the base cabinets into their final positions, right?

Do they also trim the filler panels, or do they only handle the countertop and cutouts for appliances?

Hi,

it’s difficult to say exactly WHAT you ordered. If only the installation of the countertop was ordered, a specific "amount" of labor would also have been charged. So, just fitting a corner countertop, maybe with 2 cutouts, done. That would be about 2 hours of work. Fitting the countertops is included in that. However, as frustrating as it sounds, the countertop also has to fit. If you have unusual angles or very crooked walls, the installers may or must refuse the installation. They have to guarantee their work, but that requires they can do their job under reasonable conditions. Moving base cabinets, building filler panels, leveling feet, etc., is not part of a countertop installation service. There is the option that they build the countertops and finish the job. If you’re lucky and the installers don’t have other customers after you, they could complete your additional installations at an hourly rate of €40 per installer.
