Hello everyone,

today I received the quote for the electrical installation (see attached pictures). We are not planning a smart home, just the standard installation for our single-family house. Could you please check if the pricing looks reasonable or if it is too expensive?
Thank you very much!

Best regards

The features are acceptable, but the price is more suitable for the general contractor than for you. It is quite steep.

I also find the base equipment extremely expensive. For comparable specifications, I have a gross price of 18,000 euros.

I find the price for the basic electrical installation very high. There are more outlets than usual, but that alone doesn’t justify it. Or are there additional upgrades included that haven’t been specified? Most general contractors I’ve worked with estimate electrical work based on the scope of work description at around €8,000–12,000 gross. And room thermostats usually come at an extra cost, or is this a premium package?

The upgrades themselves are actually fair to inexpensive; the problem lies in the base price.

Thanks! The basic installation costing €24,000 is also a mystery to me. I would ask for a more detailed breakdown of what is included. Above all, I don’t see in the offer which models of switches, intercom systems, thermostats, or outlets are proposed and what their appearance will be. In my opinion, there are significant differences between no-name and branded products...

Did you also receive the individual prices for the basic installation in the offer (e.g., unit price for sockets/switches with model specifications or hourly rates)? Is it common to list these items separately?

We did not receive that.

Overall, I find the total price too high. However, this is not really due to the quantities. They have fair unit prices. But the basic installation cost of 24,000 (24k) is really high for a general contractor standard (even if it might be a somewhat higher quality standard).
If you get credited the 24,000 (24k) when excluding the electrical work, it might be worth considering getting an offer with separate contracts.

That’s correct. We are building with an architect who tenders individual trades separately. The attached offer already appears to be for individual contracts. ops:
