Hello everyone,
today I received the quote for the electrical installation (see attached pictures). We are not planning a smart home, just the standard installation for our single-family house. Could you please check if the pricing looks reasonable or if it is too expensive?
Thank you very much!
Best regards

I already told you that you have many cost drivers included. If you were to remove or replace them with alternatives, you would most likely reduce the costs by nearly half. Even without specific prices, it’s clear that the figures keep increasing.
For example, USB outlets, built-in spotlights (I bet those are really driving the costs up), sauna, wiring for electric car(s), and of course the intercom system.
But of course, I’m not a clairvoyant and could be wrong. Thank you! I appreciate your experience. What bothers me is the lack of details in the quote. For this reason, I will ask for clarification just to be sure. For comparison, I will also get a second quote. During the construction phase, every trade is a “battle” that consumes both time and money...

Alessandro19 May 2020 11:23I would like to interject here:
As a client, can you not expect that the data cables will always be patched if this is specified in the offer, as with the original poster?
What other purpose would that serve? The electrical outlets are also properly connected and secured in the distribution board, which is also not explicitly mentioned in the offer.

HilfeHilfe19 May 2020 13:24Is €45 per hour reasonable for an electrician? Just asking.

I think if it’s not stated in the offer, it should simply be discussed and clarified. Usually, it is included, but I have also heard or seen cases where the installed cables just end up unconnected in the utility room. Even if the offer includes a patch panel, there are still many uncertainties. Does the electrician just mount a simple patch panel on the wall, or does he use one for a 10" or 19" rack? LSA connectors or keystone jacks? Personally, I would only use keystone jacks for the patch panel, because then you can rearrange the cables later. In a renovation, you just unplug the keystone modules without having to deal with a bulky patch panel.
