The red doors still have the protective film on them; otherwise, they have a high-gloss finish.
I would have liked to install handles on the black upper flaps as well, but we didn’t dare to do that with the glass fronts. Although the IKEA sales assistant who reviewed my planning left them on the shopping list. 😕
Also, the black shelves for the black lower cabinets are still missing—they were out of stock at IKEA at the time.

I’m also currently building with Metod, but just a boring built-in cabinet for files 😉
Next, I’m thinking about building a 37cm (15 inch) deep wall cabinet. For that, I would need to stack like you, since I want to reach 220cm (87 inch) in height. So, 80 80 60. Is there anything I should watch out for?

Juliette W6 Jul 2016 09:11No, we didn’t install the handles nor have them installed. The small edge handles that came with the cabinets work well enough.
These are all wall cabinets with a depth of 37 cm (15 inches), so there’s no need to make them “boring.” I mostly store binders in mine, but also all kinds of other office supplies.
There’s really nothing special to note (I checked with my husband 😀) since each row hangs on its own rail. The rails just need to be mounted straight and at the correct spacing, but that’s always the case. 😉
Good luck!
