Hello everyone,
we have two round columns in the living and dining area with a diameter of 16.5cm (6.5 inches) that I would like to cover smoothly and paint white. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to do this? Or maybe some pictures showing how the base was finished on the floor with tiles, like in the example below?

Innenraum einer Baustelle: Mann mit Werkzeug, gelbe Eimer, hängende Kabel von der Decke.

Baustelle: Innenraum mit Gerüst, gelben Eimern, Baumaterialien, Blick nach draußen.

Thanks a lot
Andrea

Just paint them.

Place the tiles closely together and seal the edges either with a silicone joint or a cover plate.

Painting is a good idea, but the column isn't completely smooth. I would rather cover it... but with what? Styrofoam? You would see every dent if someone bumps into it...

Then either sand it or apply filler and sand it afterwards, then prime it.

You will definitely need a painter for that who can do more than just whitewash wallpaper. It will also cost a few euros.

They have already been sanded, but there are still some small bumps remaining... I was thinking more of a cladding.

A painter knows what to do to achieve a smooth and flawless finish, including with special effect colors. I would also have it painted and leave it at that.
