I always wonder why anyone would start assembling BILLY without the instructions. But well, if someone really wants to do it: In my opinion, people overestimate the difficulty. The shelf is simply designed, and with a bit of thought, you can manage a lot even without instructions. Still, to answer the question: tutorials are helpful but not absolutely necessary. However, if you are looking for quick solutions, you shouldn’t skip the tutorial.

It's best to approach the shelf step by step yourself. Attach the back panel first, then fix the side panels, and finally place the shelves. Tutorials are helpful, but often experimenting is the best way.

Yes, this is often missing in tutorials: Many people underestimate the correct sequence, especially installing the back panel early enough. If the back panel is added too late, the shelving unit becomes unstable and you have to take everything apart again.

Also, the small dowels need to be inserted correctly. If they are crooked, the shelf supports won’t fit properly, which results in uneven shelves.
