ᐅ BILLY shelf doors still squeak after lubrication – what are the next steps?

Hello everyone,
I have lubricated the doors on my Billy shelf again to eliminate an annoying squeaking noise. Unfortunately, the squeaking still occurs even though I applied WD-40 and some silicone oil to both the joints and the hinges.
My question is: What further steps can I take to permanently eliminate the noise? Could the material of the shelf itself be the cause, or are there specific methods or products that might be more effective?
I would like to avoid replacing the doors completely. So, what can I do if lubrication doesn’t help and the squeaking persists?

That sounds really frustrating, especially after trying several methods. 🙂 I had a similar problem once – in the end, switching to silicone spray helped me. You’ve probably already tried this, but maybe completely remove the old residues first and make sure it ventilates properly? I’m keeping my fingers crossed that you’ll have peace soon!

Use of dry lubricants such as graphite or PTFE spray I would also recommend that. WD-40 often works only temporarily and attracts dust, which causes the squeaking to return.Similar topics
