Hello everyone,

I am planning to get an IKEA Platsa system and want to make the assembly process as smooth as possible. Since Platsa is a modular wardrobe system that can be customized depending on the room layout, I am interested in whether there are extensive and easy-to-follow tutorials that specifically explain how to assemble different configurations.

I am mainly looking for step-by-step instructions or video tutorials that not only cover assembling the basic unit but also offer tips on installing various extensions and variations. Something like a guide explaining which tools are useful, how to avoid common pitfalls, and how to improve stability.

Does anyone have experience with this or know reliable sources that meet these requirements?

Just to add: When it comes to assembling different variations of the Platsa system, the IKEA instructions for the individual modules are usually sufficient.

You will also often find suitable mounting clips or connecting parts included in the sets, which only need to be properly snapped together. If you prefer a simpler approach, just follow the instructions as they are provided.

IKEA PLATSA is generally not difficult to assemble, but without clear instructions it can quickly become confusing.

One tip: Some users report that they benefit from YouTube tutorial videos showing how to connect individual modules and corner solutions. These videos are unofficial but usually quite practical.

I think assembling PLATSA can even be enjoyable if you take a relaxed approach and are willing to take your time. 😊

What helped me the most was sharing the process with a few friends – it not only makes the work easier but also provides immediate feedback on the small challenges that come up during assembly.

I can understand how frustrating it can be to start with a fairly complex shelving system like PLATSA without detailed instructions.

I agree – building alone is not always the best choice.

Still, I believe there are enough tutorials and guides available – you just need to know exactly where to look and be patient.

Thank you for the many helpful contributions!

From your answers, I understand that only the official manual provided by IKEA is comprehensive and binding, but there are several very good user-made videos and tips available.

It’s now clearer to me that tutorials often focus on basic assemblies, and for specific variations, you mostly have to rely on experience and community advice.

What I’m still interested in: Does anyone know of a particularly good video tutorial series or German-language source that systematically covers the assembly of various PLATSA combinations? Or are such resources rather scattered and something you have to search for individually?

I would like to familiarize myself with as many variations as possible from the start, to avoid surprises during my own assembly later on.
