ᐅ Are there special screwdrivers required for assembling IKEA Platsa units?

Hello everyone,
I’m about to assemble the IKEA Platsa wardrobe and wonder if there are any special screwdrivers that are particularly suitable or even required for the assembly.
The manual mentions various screws and fasteners, some with Phillips heads and some with square recesses (Robertson). I do have a standard Phillips screwdriver, but some of the Platsa components look quite specific—especially the screws shown in the instructions, which need to be inserted very precisely.
Are there special screwdrivers from IKEA or third-party suppliers for Platsa that make assembly easier? Or are regular tools, such as a standard Phillips and hex key (Allen wrench), sufficient?
I’m mainly interested in whether anything special is needed because I want to avoid damaging screws or messing up the assembly with the wrong tools. Thanks for your experiences and advice!

I recently assembled the Platsa wardrobe myself and can tell you:
- The included tools are sufficient for getting started.
- However, a small cordless drill with the right bits is very handy and saves your fingers.
- There isn’t a special "IKEA Platsa screwdriver"—everything uses standard tools.
So don’t worry and just use whatever tools you have. Enjoy building it, you’ll do fine!

If you’re unsure during assembly, make sure not to tighten the screws too much, as this can damage the wood.
There are no special screwdrivers specifically for Platsa, but with the right feel and standard tools, it works well. I hope this helps you.

whether there are special screwdrivers that are particularly suitable or even required for assembly. The question is well asked and important for careful assembly.
To clarify: IKEA Platsa does not use special screws that require unique tools. The screws are standard types compatible with common Phillips and hex (Allen) screwdrivers.
A specific recommendation: use a Phillips screwdriver size PH2 and a matching hex key (often 4 mm (5/32 inches)), and you will be well equipped.
IKEA does not offer specialty tools – the included tools are more of an emergency solution for assembly. Those who assemble furniture frequently should invest in good standard tools.
