Hello everyone,
I am planning to assemble several Ikea Platsa systems soon and would like to raise a general question: Are there proven methods to significantly speed up the assembly of Ikea Platsa systems without compromising stability or quality?
I am especially interested in practical tips for preparation, organizing the individual modules, avoiding common mistakes, or technical aids that can reduce the effort. Of course, I will use the included instructions, but I would appreciate advice on how to make complicated assembly steps more efficient, for example by working on certain components in parallel, choosing the right tools, or other approaches.
What experiences have you had, particularly regarding time savings without loss of quality? Thanks!

To add further detail: I have found that using a good laser distance measurer and small clamps to secure parts significantly improves work efficiency.
Securing the parts before screwing them together greatly reduces slipping and the need for adjustments. It also allows for more effective teamwork – one person holds the parts, while the other screws them.
Although these tools require a small initial investment, they quickly pay off when assembling multiple units through time savings and increased precision.

At first, I was really nervous about assembling the PLATSA, but with a bit of practice, it goes pretty fast!
What really helped me was:
- Sorting all the screws beforehand
- Grouping the work steps so I assembled all the side panels first, then the back panels, and finally attached the doors
- Taking short breaks in between to catch my breath – this helped me stay focused and make very few mistakes
So, once you get the hang of it, you can assemble PLATSA units quite quickly. Don’t get discouraged!
