Hello everyone,

I am planning to upgrade my Ikea PLATSA system with LED lighting. I am looking for LED lighting kits specifically designed for PLATSA that can be easily integrated into the modular furniture system without much effort. It is important to me that the installation is as simple as possible, meaning no complicated wiring or technical adjustments are required.

Does anyone know of such kits, ideally with plug connections or adhesive surfaces for mounting? It would be great if you could also share your experiences regarding the light quality and compatibility.

There are LED strips with 12V plugs that can simply be attached to the back and connected to a power supply. These are usually compatible with PLATSA. Just pay attention to the dimensions and use adhesive tape.

I installed a set from Ikea called "Ledberg" myself. It fits well and is easy to install since it uses magnets and adhesive strips. The power supply is usually through a power outlet, so it’s not a big effort.

Thanks for the tip! Did you notice whether the light color (warm white/cool white) is suitable for living spaces? And how flexible is the connection with different PLATSA configurations?

Hello!

You have already given some great tips. I’m really excited about the possibilities when I think about my PLATSA with LEDs. For me, it was also LED strips with adhesive backing that are almost invisible to install. The warm white version creates a cozy atmosphere – perfect for the living room!

Additionally, the sets from Ikea are modular, allowing you to connect several strips in series. Installation was a breeze – almost like building with Lego. 😊

If someone is new to LED installation, I can easily understand how intimidating it can seem at first. I had some concerns about the electrical work and the overall effort at the beginning.

It is important to research thoroughly and plan everything carefully beforehand. Most LEDs designed for PLATSA are actually made so that even those with less technical experience can install them very easily by following the instructions.

By the way, I have had good experiences with sets that can also be controlled via remote control or an app – this adds convenience and saves time.
